Guidance

Applicability:

The facility prepares coolant packs for vaccine transportation (distribution, collection and/or outreach) and the ambient temperature does sometimes drop below zero, or the packing of warm water packs is observed

 

Scoring:

1: Responsible person knows how to protect vaccines from sub-zero outside temperatures (use warm packs) or is observed to do so correctly.

0: Otherwise.

 

Guidance:

In cold climates (sub-zero ambient temperatures), warm packs (prepared at room temperature) can be used to protect the vaccines from sub-zero temperatures during short trips.
